Chhoti Haldwani Centenary Festival Kaladhungi

Jim Corbett purchased Chhoti Haldwani village in 1915 and tried to develop it as a model Kumaoni village. His efforts to develop agriculture are described in his book My India. The festival will commemorate 100 years of Chhoti Haldwani’s establishment by Jim Corbett and the effort of Corbett Gram Vikas Samiti to conserve this legacy.
Venue: The Chhoti Haldwani Centenary Festival will be organized at the village. Several activities will be organized at the Jim Corbett Museum and at the Forest Rest House, Kaladhungi.
Programme & Activities: The Chhoti Haldwani Centenary Festival 2015 will be inaugurated on Friday 25th December and culminate on Sunday 27th December 2015. The festival will include several activities – guided bird watching, butterfly walks and Jim Corbett’s heritage walk. In addition there will be exhibitions on local cuisine, local produce & handicrafts along with book reading, film shows and cultural performances.
Registration: There will be prior registration with a charge of Rs 1,500/- for guided Birdwatching, butterfly walks and Jim Corbett’s Heritage Walks, on first-served basis for limited seats. This includes lunch. Day visit can also be done for Rs1000/- Register yourself at www.corbettvillage.in.(Guest staying in Corbett village homestay don’t have to register).
Boarding: Limited accommodation is available at CGVS homestay. Homestay tarrif Rs 4,550/- on twin sharing basis, inclusive of bed tea, all meals, accommodation, local travel for activity and registration for all guided activities. Pick up and drop to railways station extra. For children 05-12 yrs tariff is Rs 1500/- for 3 days and 2 two nights,. Above 12 years is considered as adult

Local cuisine: Food stalls serving local cuisine will be set up by members of the local community. A restaurant (Eetu) run by the local community already exists at Kaladhungi.
